PLC Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Course Description

The course is designed to introduce students to troubleshooting and PLC maintenance. Some topics covered will be Input/ Output: Devices, sensor types, solenoids etc., Numbering Systems, I/O Processing, how a PLC operates, Ladder Programming and how to read and understand a plc program.

Objectives & Outline

This course will give the student a good beginning knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining PLC’s

Course Outline:

  • Troubleshoot input devices
  • Troubleshoot an output device
  • Troubleshoot a plc input
  • Troubleshoot a plc output
  • Troubleshoot a plc program input
  • Troubleshoot a plc program output
  • Some Ladder Logic programming
  • Omron and Siemens PLCs.

This class is gear towards apprentices.
