This course is designed to give students an understanding of basic physics and the ability to recognize definitions for force, friction, and inertia.
Objectives & Outline
The student will be able to describe atmospheric pressure and its effects on pumping systems, recognize pump captivation and locate its cause, identify different types of pumps and explain their operation, perform calculations and formulas, and identify hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors.
Course Outline:
- Perform calculations
- Draw static hydraulic systems to calculate the force of a cylinder
- Identify and explain the operation of check valves, two, three and four way valves and control valves
- Explain how a check valve is used
