CNC II

Course Description

This course is designed to develop a proficient knowledge of CNC CAD/CAM programming and machining.

The student will learn basic programming concepts and techniques using the latest Mastercam and Esprit CAM computer aided machining software’s, along with state-of-the-art indexable tooling for CNC Machining Centers and Lathes

Objectives & Outline

Course Outline:

• Fundamentals of computer aided machining technologies using both Mastercam and Esprit Cam programming software’s
• Creation and manipulation of drawing files
• Machine tool selection
• Machining strategies and operations
• Program management
• Cutting tool technology
• Creation of two, two, and three axis CAM programs in EIA word address formats

Students will need to have access to a computer to complete assignments outside of class hours
