Die Design I
Course Description
This course will focus on the initial stages (strip layout) of a die design to produce the customer’s part, starting with the blank strip through to the finished part.
Objectives & Outline
We will look at the Strip Layout that will include creating a flat blank from a formed part, adding a carrier and how we come to the decision on carrying the part through the die. We will discover how to determine the number of stations, types of trimming, piercing, coining, forming, lancing, pre-shear.
