CNC Technician II

Course Description

This 30 hour course is designed to develop an introductory working knowledge of basic CAD/CAM programming, to enhance an Operators skillset. The student will learn the skills to program basic machine parts for both Milling and Turning Centers from CAD drawings on a computer work station.

Objectives & Outline

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course the student should have developed skills to:
a. Import Drawings in DXF and or solid part formats.
b. Understand drawing manipulation techniques in preparation for programming.
c. Select correct cutting tools and mounting devices for machining parts.
d. Create programs for machining centers and turning centers on the CAD/CAM computer workstation
e. Simulate the programs in the computer and check for errors
f. Output and store programs in EIA ā€œGā€ code format
